Wonderful home to stay in for visit on Tybee Island. Beautiful house with plenty of space at a great location. Will be back!
We found our accommodations at Wish Upon A Starfish to be everything as advertised and more. This is a very warm and welcoming cottage with many modern upgrades that have not sacrificed it's original 1940's charm. It is located on a very quiet bike/walking path that is also just 3 blocks from the ocean and is complete with all the kitchen appliances of home. Cooking, grilling utensils, glasses (both kid friendly and adult beverage friendly), plates, silverware and more are included. The new washer and dryer made it convenient to freshen up the swimsuits while relaxing on either the private back porch or people watching over the 2nd street facing front porch. To go along with the claw foot bath tub in the original portion of the cottage, what appears to be a newly added bathroom was spacious with a double sink. A bonus that wasn't advertised was the available hair dryer, iron and ironing board (the latter two were never used because we were on an island at a beach!) Each room has a TV to allow any desired breaks from family time. While there was just two of us that stayed in the upper level, the two porches, 3 bedrooms, dining area and living room area offer plenty of room for a large family to spread out. Kids would certainly love to camp out in the room with the over/under bunk beds and trundle bed. The starfished-themed decorations really added to the charm of the cottage. As mentioned, Wish Upon A Starfish is 3 short blocks to the beach. Though we did have to cross Butler Ave to get to the beach, pedestrians always have the right of way. To get any closure to the ocean would require paying for parking so we parked for free at the cottage and made the very short walk to the beach. We were also fortunate to discover that the 9th Street boardwalk, which is the closest path to the beach, is about halfway between the North Shore beach area and the Pier area. Both areas were much more crowded than where we camped out right off the 9th street access. We enjoyed watching the pair of passing dolphins each morning and large ships coming to and from the Port of Savannah. (Oh yeah, the ocean was there too). The cottage is also just 3 blocks from what I believe is the only grocery store on the island. Getting food/supplies from IGA was a quick walk. The rest of the island restaurant/shops are a doable walking distance (except for The Original Crab Shack) and certainly an easy bike ride. If nothing else, if you do not have a car, renting a golf cart seemed a popular option. This truly is an amazing place and the biggest endorsement I can give is to say that when we go back to Tybee Island, we will be booking our stay at Wish Upon A Starfish.
We had a wonderful stay in Tybee and Wish Upon A Starfish was a superb host. A cute and comfortable update with original island charm! Clean and continently located on a quiet street.
The sun rising over Tybee Island is spectacular! The Tybee Vacation Rentals team was awesome to work with. They were very friendly and efficient with our booking efforts. Pre-stay communications were well timed and thorough. There were no issues during our stay but had there been, Im confident they would have handled whatever it was quickly and with exceptional service. The only part I didnt like was the reminder regarding the check out procedures and that was only because I didnt want to be reminded that we were going to have to leave!Great work everyone!
Had a great time and the cottage was fantastic.
The house was amazing. We enjoyed the Lighthouse museum, a boat tour around Tybee with Elizabeth and the Book Festival in Savannah during our stay. Great location!
Wonderful house and great location!!! We had an amazing weekend and hope to rent the house again!!!!
We enjoyed our stay at wish upon a starfish! Very cozy and family friendly!
