Stay in the heart of beautiful downtown Savannah Georgia, just steps away from Monterey Square. The Southern Belle Carriage House is a 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, 2-story renovated carriage house located in the Historic District. Originally built in 1852, this former carriage house has been converted into a charming, romantic retreat perfect for those looking for a unique getaway in the South's favorite City.
The contemporary apartment, at about 1100 square feet of living space, features refinished hardwood floors, exposed beams, brick walls, and architectural details throughout. The cozy ground level living area has a Queen size sleeper sofa and a flat-screen TV. The renovated kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher, and has a large center island with a breakfast bar with seating for 2. This two-story apartment has a unique spiral staircase that connects the interior spaces. (this spiral staircase is very narrow, please use caution). There is a private, outdoor courtyard off the living room that also has stairs that lead up to the second-floor bedroom. The bedroom and bathroom are upstairs and it comes furnished with a King size bed and a 42" smart TV. There is a sitting room attached to the bedroom that also has a daybed, for flexible sleeping space. The bathroom has a tub and shower combination. There are a full-size washer and dryer upstairs too.
The Southern Belle Carriage House is situated behind the Southern Belle Townhome, which sits on East Taylor Street between Drayton St and Bull Street on Monterey Square. This square's main attractions are the Mercer-Williams House, originally built in 1860, and the oldest Jewish Synagogue, Congregation Mickve Israel offers tours of these beautifully restored buildings.
In-unit WIFI is available. The occupancy limit for the day and overnight guests is a maximum of 4. This property is pet-friendly.
Parking information: Parking for this home is on-street and metered Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Guests are encouraged to either purchase a pre-paid parking pass from the Savannah Visitor Center or park on a nearby non-metered street. Neighborhood street parking spaces have a 2-hour time limit near Monterey Square.
Guests will also be located only a short 20-25 minute drive to Tybee Island, Savannah's beach. Come out for a day trip to enjoy the beach, fishing, visiting Ft. Pulaski, or climbing Georgia's oldest and tallest lighthouse.
