Fort Screven Rec Hall, winner of the 2022 Historic Savannah Foundation Preservation Award for faithful historic restoration and creative repurpose as an ultimate beach vacation destination. Once serving as the leisure facility for Fort Screven, this 5 bedroom vacation home has been thoroughly refurbished and restored to make it one of the most unique getaway experiences on all of Tybee Island. The property is lively and friendly, with a brand-new 12' x 24', 4-foot deep pool with a sundeck and an outdoor patio. It's perfect for families and friends to gather and enjoy each other's company!

Guests are welcomed with a wide-open living area featuring exposed beams, high ceilings, and industrial touches throughout, giving a modern feel to the historic home. Relaxation and Recreation are combined in the open living and dining area, which features a large farmhouse table with bench seating to comfortably accommodate 8 people. The addition of a 70-inch TV, a shuffleboard table, and plush living room seating for all makes it the perfect gathering space. The fully-equipped kitchen includes a double oven, gas range stove, and double-door refrigerator and freezer. Ideal for entertaining, the kitchen has a large butcher block island with seating for 5 and cool concrete countertops. Just off of the kitchen is an additional living area with a seating area and an arcade game console for hours of fun indoors.

The bedrooms of the home are spacious and bright as they all feature the home’s distinct high ceilings. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed, flat-screen TV, a large desk, and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Bedroom 2 features a queen-size bed and flat-screen TV, while Bedroom 3 features two twin beds and another flat-screen TV. These two bedrooms share a hall bathroom, which has a shower and tub combination. Bedrooms 4 and 5 both have king-sized beds and flat-screen TVs, however, Bedroom 5 also features a raised twin bunk. These two bedrooms share another hall bathroom with a huge walk-in shower.

Take the gang outdoors to refresh in the sun and salt air. The custom-designed 12’ x 24’, the 4-foot deep pool is perfect for enjoying hours of fun in the sun, when not at the beach. Just on the other side of the home is a relaxing outdoor pergola, a shaded space perfect to 'wine down' the hectic day. There is a gas grill for cooking a great meal.

Guests will love this home’s convenient location only a 5-minute walk to public beach access as well as signature landmarks and restaurants, such as Tybee Lighthouse, Tybee Museum, and The North Beach Grill!

The home includes a full-size washer and dryer and ample on-property parking for up to 6 vehicles. A convenient Electric Vehicle (EV) Car charger is available onsite. Pool heat can be added for an additional fee. (Not available in January and February). This home has High-Speed Internet/WIFI available for guest use.


Need more space for your upcoming vacation? Then consider also renting Beach Bum Inn, a 5-bedroom home. When combined with Fort Screven Rec Hall, that would be a total of 10 bedrooms, sleeping up to 32 guests.

Can’t say enough! Perfect house for spring break!
I’ve only written one review before and we take 2 beach trips per year. This house is amazing! We are a family of 8 with 6 kids under 9 and the house was the perfect fit- had everything you need for cooking/serving littles, comfortable beds, beautiful decorations, super clean and all on a gorgeous lot with tons of outdoor living space. The owners didn’t miss a thing in the renovation! The heated pool was a huge hit for the kids. I’ve never rented a house with a pool and was reluctant, but felt very safe and loved that the living space with the grill was on the other side. Perfect 10. We will absolutely rent this gem again!
