Terrific Week
What a wonderful time of year to spend on Tybee Island and at Ebb Tide. Little traffic and wide open beaches made our visit all the more enjoyable. We were a group of 6 adults with only one couple in the group so we each had our own room with one to spare. The weather was beautiful but was just slightly extreme enough to let us try out both the heat and the AC which worked great. An insider tip, if it matters to you, the ground floor 2 bedrooms (queen, twins) and bath (separate shower and toilet rooms) are on a separate hvac system from the upstairs and it worked out perfectly for my cousin and me as we preferred a cooler setting than our other relatives. We all commented that the good water pressure and quick access to hot water were appreciated. This house has a fully stocked kitchen which gave us the choice to eat in or out. We ate in about half the time with plenty of room to have multiple people helping out in the kitchen and we enjoyed use of the gas grill once as well. Had we needed it, there was room for 10 around the main dining table and even more seating inside and out if you wanted to eat in a smaller grouping. The ample sunporch was a regular hangout as we came back from walks or just hung out to read and chat. We had plans to make use of some of the board games and DVDs but just never seemed to get around to it. Perhaps it was the easy access to the beach and the frequent spontaneous decisions to simply 'go for a walk'. We were also all on the wifi often, usually chatting at the same time, and never felt like we were overtaxing the transmissions. We parked three cars under the house, one was a van and the other two were small SUVs so everything just fit snugly. There was room for another vehicle on the driveway if needed, especially so for a larger van or SUV. We ventured out for a trolley tour of Savannah and a drive down to St. Simon's Island. Dinners out in town included The Dock, The Crab Shack, AJs and The Stingray. The Stingray and The Crab Shack were probably the two favorites as well as gelato at Jimmy's. . . shopping at Seaside Sisters high on the list as well. All in all, a great week. I've been to Tybee before and, in the interest of full disclosure, know the Ebb Tide owners. My cousins did not know them, however, and I know they agree with my assessment. It was their first time at Tybee and they'd very much like to return. All agreed that the house was a highlight and exceeded expectations.

AMAZING friends getaway
Four couples met at Ebb Tide for a wonderful reunion. Tybee Island was a great middle location between North Carolina and Florida. The gals in the group are longtime book club members and staying at the home of an author was extra special. Highlights: Proximity to the beach - two houses from beach boardwalk Well-stocked kitchen Funky & interesting decor Layout of the home - plenty of room for four couples and lots of space to chill & lounge Large dining room table for group meals and nightly game playing

November 2017 Stay
I have to say I am beyond impressed with TVR and the staff. My family and I stayed in a rental home on Tybee Island the week of Thanksgiving. 12 adults. The house was perfect! We had a small problem, well really kind of urgent and on Thanksgiving night at close to 9pm, we noticed the refrigerator temperature was reading 57 degrees. Actually, upon our first night, we noticed the freezer stopped making ice but thought nothing of it. Perhaps 12 people were having too many glasses of water and the ice maker wasn't keeping up? We adjusted and got ice bags. Well, a couple things in the fridge had been noticed to have frozen over. Perhaps it should have been a sign but it became urgent after we noticed the fridge temp was steadily rising and would soon spoil our thanksgiving leftovers and more meals we had planned out for preparation during the week. I called the emergency number and surprisingly on thanksgiving night I actually got a call back within literally minutes! Kerrie was amazing. She provided a suggestion

Great week on Tybee Island
We just spent a week at Ebbtide and thourally enjoyed it. The house is great. There was plenty of room for all 12 of us. There was plenty of space to all hang out together are you could find a quiet spot if you needed some quiet time. The location is a big plus. We could come and go from the beach with ease. Will definitely stay there next year. One problem was the air conditioning could not keep the house cool. It got warm at night and did not cool down until morning.

We are thrilled you enjoyed all Ebbtide has to offer. The Air Conditioning has been repaired and is working properly to keep guests cool all day and night. We can't wait to have you back again next year!

Beautiful place!
We loved our stay at Ebbtide! It was the first summer rental we’ve had where I didn’t have to mentally redecorate in my head all week long (and let me tell you, it’s taxing when you’re sitting in a rental and trying to figure out paint colors and decor). With this place, every room was decorated in vintage splendor! This home would be the perfect setting for a Nora Ephron-type movie (you know the kind they don’t make anymore where people are actually kind and happy…). We loved so many things about this place including the close proximity to the beach, the amount of rooms and the layout which worked for our unique family situation and we loved that we got to bring the family shih tzus along too. It was a beautiful week!

Ebbtide - a note of appreciation
On Friday the 13th 2023, there was a series of fortuitous events that brought our family to a wonderful weekend in your lovely beach home. Because our daughter and her husband are both officers in the USAF, we were unable to gather for our traditional Christmas/family celebration, due to travel restrictions for military personnel. Therefore, a full year ago we picked Tybee Island, sight unseen, and arranged for an Airbnb house for our get-together. An “accidental booking” led us to Ebb Tide House by sheer good fortune. An owner of our original booked property failed to notify the agency that the property had been put up for sale and the real estate company had winterized the house, so there was no water. We had moved in on late Friday evening before this was discovered and we subsequently declined a property after inspection ( below our standards). Thus, your home became our last choice and what a great ending for a rough day it was. Saturday morning dawned at 30 degrees and, with a 20 knot offshore wind, was truly chilling. Nevertheless, undaunted, we walked the beach and toured the lighthouse. Neil Swan, brother of the first writer: Fantastic beach accommodations and every needed amenity. I can imagine this house ringing with the sounds of childrerns’ joyous laughter (we had no kids on our visit). Thanks for the thoughtfulness that obviously went into your collection of memorabilia and fabulous antiques. Bob Swan writing again: On Saturday evening Mason and Madison Sorrell ( our daughter) prepared the traditional, Christmas, prime rib dinner in your wonderful gourmet kitchen and we enjoyed sharing tales of our past year (including a deployment to Jordan for Madison). On Sunday we were able to see lots of Savannah, via the Trolley, (and plan for a necessary return trip to take in more of this historic treasured city). We capped the day with a great dinner on the river as the sun was setting and with the wind still gusting (what should we expect in January?) Our son Austin (also a veteran of 2 Air Force deployments) and his wife Lindsay were grateful for the great accommodation afforded by the lower level apartment, with the enclosed garage for their two dogs without bringing them upstairs. He was very enamored of the perfect sailfish mounted over the fireplace. With the high winds on the 13th and 14th my wife, Pam, noted that she heard loud banging during the night on Friday. We discovered that one of the storm shutters escaped its lever catch, causing the constant wind-driven banging. Ever inventive, Austin used your long fishing pole, from the entry, to relatch the shutter while I held it in place from the open kitchen window. Adventures and memories are where you find them. Monday morning (MLK Day) brought an early scurry to the airport, for some, and a drive for others. Life is made up of a series of experiences and we wanted you to know how much this weekend will be savored by the Swan family. I was particularly appreciative of the gorgeous oriental rugs and Pam, of the antiques and attention to detail, as well as the thoughtfulness, with which it has all been assembled. Some of us are even old enough to recognize some of the pieces from our grandparents' home. Needless to say, we are in awe of Ebb Tide House and its Author. I even remember seeing the original Ebb Tide movie starring Ray Miland. I knew I couldn't do justice to our thoughts within the pages of your signing book but would love to share our “Christmas in January” weekend with anyone who is interested.

Is there a Keurig coffee maker

Answer:

Yes! This home has a Keruig Coffee maker and a regular drip coffee maker available.

Do you have golf cart rentals?
- Posted: 07/13/2022

Answer:

Yes! Tybee Island does have golf cart rentals, however, this will not be the best choice for this home as you cannot cross the street here with a golf cart. Tybee Island is only 3 miles long so we suggest renting bicycles for this home. Tim's Beach Gear will even deliver to you!

How do you get to the downstairs bedrooms?
- Posted: 07/13/2022

Answer:

Go through the door at the back of the foyer and you will have access to two bedrooms and the bathroom. There is central heat and AC for guest comfort.
