BEACHES: Tybee Island beaches are open without restrictions.
ATTRACTIONS: Museums and attractions are open; however, they may have adjusted operational hours and capacity limits. We recommend confirming these details directly with the operator.
BUSINESSES/RESTAURANTS: Businesses and restaurants are open on Tybee and in Savannah. Because restaurants are adapting to new policies and restrictions, the wait time can be longer than usual for both dine-in and carry out service. Guests should plan accordingly or plan to prepare meals in the comfort of your vacation home.
MASK MANDATE: (Effective July 26): The Savannah mask mandate has been partially reinstated. Under the new advisory, masks are required in city-owned buildings, such as early childhood, elementary, secondary institutions, hospitals, while on public transportation or on guided tours, including cars, trolleys, busses, bicycles, quadricycles, scooters and pedicabs. Visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings inside establishments inside the city. Churches are excluded from this mandate. Masks or face coverings are required to properly cover the nose and mouth.
Physical/social distance of six feet between persons is advised to the extent that it is possible. Additionally, everyone is encouraged to wash their hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer regularly. Any person unable to wear a mask for whatever reason is exempt. Face coverings are not required when alone or with other household members; when eating, drinking, or smoking; actively exercising outdoors; or for children 10 years or younger.
Tybee Island is not included in the mask mandate.
Cleanliness has always been a top priority. The TVR housekeeping staff is trained to use the best hygiene practices focusing on sanitization and disinfection. We clean "high touch" items, hard surfaces, floors, countertops, railings, sink faucets, appliances, doorknobs, light switches, and other surfaces.
Our housekeeping team and linen facility utilize high-quality products, including chemicals and disinfectants, that are effective against bacteria and viruses, per EPA guidelines. Linens and towels are laundered offsite at our professional laundry, which utilizes advanced Ozone Laundry Disinfection Systems. Our team is committed to following the best practices and proven cleaning protocols at all times for the safety of our guests and our employees. Click here for more information on TVR's housekeeping and linen standards.
Your property will be clean and sanitized before your arrival. However, you may choose to take further precautions. While Tybee Vacation Rentals has high standards of cleaning, some guests may choose to perform additional cleaning upon arrival. Please be prepared to bring your own cleaning supplies and disinfectant products. The CDC recommends all households consider cleaning and disinfecting "high-touch" surfaces daily in shared household areas (e.g., tables, hard-backed chairs, doorknobs, light switches, remotes, handles, desks, toilets, sinks). As has been recommended by many authorities, wash your hands often, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Due to COVID-19 our ability to repair and replace items such as but not limited to heating and air conditioning units, appliances, fans, and furnishing may be impacted due to high demand and supply chain constraints. Every effort will be made to find a solution where possible.
