How To Get Around Tybee Island

Tybee Island is a smaller island at only three miles long and one mile wide so you can walk to any destination on the island. However, if you prefer a faster mode of transportation, bicycles, scooters, golf carts, and taxis will get you there quicker and with less effort.  You can travel to the beach with ease or to any of Tybee’s local restaurants or shops. The following are a few of our recommended modes of transportation.

Tybee Island Bike and Golf Cart Rentals

TIMS Bike and Beach Gear – offers adult and kids bikes, tandems, trailers, pull-behind child carriers, strollers, umbrellas, chairs, carts, bocce balls, cribs, high chairs, and much more. They also provide free delivery and pick up. Visit one of their two shops on the island (north end and south end). 

Fat Tire Bikes – offers both adult and kids bikes such as beach cruiser bikes, tricycles, and beach crushers.  They also offer full-service bicycle repair and bike parts for sale. 

Tybee Golf Carts – Nothing beats having your own personal golf cart to cruise around in.  Once you rent, you’ll wonder why you never did before.  We offer gas or electric carts and free delivery and pickup.  All sizes are available. 

Tybee Island Taxi Services

Breezy Riders – Can’t miss our fleet of hot pink vehicles providing service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Food delivery is another service Breezy offers from any Tybee Island restaurant.

Tybee Turtle Transit – Tybee Turtle Transit is an open-air taxi shuttle service that services all of Tybee Island. On top of being an all-island taxi service, Tybee Turtle also offers island tours and even food delivery. Tybee Turtle can accommodate up to 32 people for tours, parties or even weddings.
