Hit the Beach!
Get ready to make a splash at THE BEACH! Whether you're a kid or just young at heart, the waves are calling for some fun. Sink your toes into the warm sand, build epic sandcastles, and soak up the sun. For early birds, there's nothing quite like the magic of a sunrise at Mid Beach. Or, for those who savor the evening, stick around to witness a jaw-dropping sunset near North Beach. Plus, all of Tybee’s beaches are great for shell-collecting enthusiasts, but the best area is North Beach near the lighthouse.
Tybee Island's local parades are a vibrant and cherished tradition that brings the community together. These parades are a reflection of the island's unique charm and welcoming spirit. From the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, where green-clad revelers fill the streets with Irish cheer, to the quirky and whimsical Beach Bum Parade, where floats adorned with water guns and beach toys add a playful twist, there's always something to celebrate on Tybee. Check out the events page for upcoming parades and more!

Window Shopping at The Farmer's Market
If you're a YMCA member, you're in for a treat on Tybee Island! The Tybee Island YMCA generously extends a warm welcome to its fellow Y members by offering complimentary visitor passes. This means that even when you're away from home, you can enjoy their array of amenities.
Bring Your Kayak
Have a kayak? Take the trek to Little Tybee! This uninhabited nature preserve will give you the chance to get in touch with nature. Despite its name, Little Tybee is actually twice the size of Tybee Island. It’s well worth the trip.
Enjoy a scenic bike ride! Tybee Island is like one big bike path, so you can explore the entire island on two wheels. Just follow the signs conveniently marked “Bike Route”. One perk of getting around the island on a bike is that you don’t have to worry about parking! While not free, if you need to rent a bike just visit Fat Tire Bikes or TIMS Beach Gear.
There are a number of free events that happen at the Tybee American Legion Post 154 throughout the year. While some may have a fee, there are great events worth checking out like Friday Night Bingo! Be sure to visit their website for more information and lists of upcoming events!
