What’s New on Tybee Island?

Aside from the beach, Tybee Island is known for its extensive selection of restaurants, activities, and attractions. From historic monuments and marine centers to local hotspots and cafes, there’s no shortage of entertainment once you get here! Keep reading for a list of new businesses that have popped up across the island.


Cockspur Grill – Friends John Branigin and Michael “Spec” Hosti decided to open the Cockspur Grill in the summer of 2020, right in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Their vision was to create a comfortable, welcoming environment where locals and visitors alike could enjoy a delicious snack, a full meal or a cold beverage. Featuring a menu that can best be defined as “American Comfort,” there is something for everyone, from salads, to seafood, to steaks; as well as wings and burgers. But be sure to save room for dessert!

Pier 16 Seafood Restaurant – Make a reservation at the newest eatery on Tybee. The restaurant features a huge deck, perfect for outdoor seating after a long day at the beach. Located on the corner of Inlet Avenue & Tybrisa, it’s a straight shot to and from Tybee Island’s main pier.

Sea Wolf Restaurant – Stop in for a unique Tybee Island experience! Enjoy fine drinks, oysters, sausages, & vegan food – located on the North side of Tybee. The Sea Wolf Restaurant is a sister restaurant to the Lone Wolf Lounge located 20 minutes up the road in Savannah, GA.

Chamacos Tacos & Surf – Stop by this indoor/outdoor restaurant and enjoy epic tacos, tequila, mezcal, playlists, surf gear and vibes! Grab a bite to eat then take a short walk to Tybee Island’s main beach.

Mi Vida – Tybee local favorite spot for Cold-Pressed Juice, coffee, freshest salads, and sandwiches made of sustainable nutrients from Mother Earth. Committed to bringing the freshest ingredients in a casual atmosphere. Dine-in or grab and go.

Sweet Treats

Beau & Arrow Frozen Yogurt – Get your frozen yogurt fix at the only frozen yogurt spot on Tybee Island! Located on the just a short walk from Tybee Islands main beach.

Ben & Jerry’s – Want to have your Ben & Jerry’s ice cream the way it was originally intended? Head into our family run, locally owned and operated Tybee Island Ice Cream shop and dig into any of our euphoric ice cream flavors (all certified Kosher and non-GMO with Vegan and Dairy-Free options available!) the way our first scoops were served by Ben and Jerry themselves!

Savannah Praline Company – Old-time southern sweets and candies made with real sugar, real south Georgia pecans, and real love. Your sweet tooth will love the handmade treats displayed all over this cute little candy shop. Centrally located on Tybee Island, it’s the perfect stop on your route to the beach!

Things to Do

Gallery 80 on Tybee – Formerly Justabreeze Gallery, Tybee Island’s newest gallery is conveniently located at “The Shoppes at 1207” plaza.

Irritable Pelican Artisan Gallery – The Irritable Pelican is the only stop you’ll need for handmade art, jewelry, clothing, and home décor. More than 30 artists share more than 1000 handmade pieces of Art. Welcome to The Irritable Pelican, an art gallery showcasing art centered around Tybee Island.

Tybee Island Marine Science Center – Visit the Tybee Island Marine Science Center at it’s new location on the North end of the island, near the Tybee Island Lighthouse. Learn all about the marine life that live on our near our Atlantic shoreline. Walk upstairs to the ship watch loft to peer through floor to ceiling windows and watch container ships pass in and out of port. Before you leave, grab a souvenir from the gift shop!
