With warmer weather replacing the winter chill, there are a ton of wonderful spring activities to check out on your next trip to Savannah and Tybee Island! It’s one of the best times of the year with sunny skies, pleasant breezes, and blooming flowers all around. Plus, you get to experience St. Patricks’ Day, which is serious business around these parts. And, with Easter just around the corner, there are plenty of things to do!
Relaxing Spring Activities on Tybee

With the weather starting to warm up it’s the ideal time to get out and explore! There’s no better way to experience Tybee Island than on a bicycle. It’s basically one gigantic bike path, so cruise along the beach, or use the trails marked “Bike Route”. Didn’t bring a bike on your vacation? No problem! Tim’s Bike & Beach Gear or Fat Tire Bikes can hook you up with all your biking needs. Head to Jaycee Park for a relaxing ride around the 8.5-acre park that features a winding waterway right through the middle. Or, head to the Back River Beach for a slow ride with a perfect sunset view.
Savannah in the Springtime

If you’ve been to Savannah in the past then you know all about the blooming azaleas and camellias that brighten up the city. They’re one of the many reasons exploring the Hostess City is such a joy! As a result, you’ll want to check out Forsyth Park. It’s a green space smack dab in the middle of the city’s historic district. Bring a blanket and a picnic basket to relax the park, or head over to Collins Quarter at Forsyth for shaded, outdoor seating and specialty coffee. Before the summer heat takes over, we recommend walking around the city as much as possible. Check out some of the 22 squares scattered around downtown. If you’re traveling with a pet, they make for the perfect place to take your pup!
St. Patrick’s Day Festivities

If you’re visiting for the first time this spring, be sure to check out the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Rather than just one day of celebrations, we here in Savannah celebrate over an entire week with great festivities that end with a 3-hour, fun-filled parade. It includes numerous organizations, marching bands, and even floats that amble on the streets on March 17th, rain or shine! You can experience an entirely separate celebration on Tybee Island! The annual Tybee Island Irish Heritage Celebration Parade is in its 19th year and features music, marchers and so much more. The family-friendly fest starts at Tybee City Hall and travels down Butler Avenue to Tybrisa Street. So, gather up all your green and come on down to celebrate!
Farmer’s Market Fresh
Springtime marks the beginning of farmer’s market season! Save yourself the stress of going to the grocery store, and get all of the ingredients for your next cookout from some local farmers. The Forsyth Farmer’s Market happens every Saturday and is the largest in the area with a wide variety of vendors and different offerings. Returning on March 14th is the Tybee Island Farmer’s Market which provides access to some of the area’s freshest fruits and veggies! Don’t forget about the Wilmington Island Farmers Market!
