Tybee Island Activities: A Trip to Sharktooth Island!
As the name suggests, Sharktooth Island is one of the best places in the area to search for amazing shark teeth! The dredging of the Savannah River has resulted in many fossils being disturbed and making their way to the aptly named island. Since it’s only accessible at low tide and by boat, you’ll most likely want to take a guided tour. Southern Saltwater Charters offers a trip as well as fishing excursions around the area! If you’re lucky, you may even find a Megalodon tooth!

Relax and Unwind with Tybee Beach Yoga!
Stretch your way into a great stay with Beach Yoga Tybee! They offer beach classes on Saturday mornings at 9 am and Thursday evenings at 6 pm at the Gulick Street walkover at North Beach. There are also classes on Monday evenings at 6 pm at Jaycee Park. Join fellow visitors and locals to find your Zen with instructor Ann Caroll! It’s the ideal way to relax and unwind on Tybee Time.

Brush Up On Ecology!
Grab your beach shoes and head to the shorelines with Tybee Beach Ecology Trips! Make your vacation more than just a trip to the beach; make it a valuable experience discovering the animals and habitats of Georgia’s barrier island. Led by marine biologist Dr. Joe Richardson, a professor of Marine Sciences. For many years, he has conducted field studies at the beach for school classes, teachers, and other groups. According to Dr. Joe, the best time to discover sea critters in the tide pools at the North Beach jetties is low time. You can interact with blue crabs, stone crabs, starfish, and maybe even an octopus!
Tybee Island Activities: Labor Day Bash
Head down to the iconic Tybee Island Pier and Pavillion for some fun live music from favorites The Swingin’ Medallions! They’re a band from Greenville, South Carolina that formed in the 1960s and put out big hits like “Double Shot (of My Baby’s Love)”. Often associated with beach music, here’s your chance to see them right on sandy Tybee Island beaches! The concert is on Sunday, September 4th, and is free for everyone! While there are also typically fireworks, this year there will be no fireworks on Labor Day. Instead, enjoy gorgeous sunset views while the band plays into the night!
