Local Events and Activities

There are so many great events and activities happening here on Tybee and in Savannah that are perfect for all ages and interests. Sometimes it can be difficult to find information about all of the activities in one easy place so, we’ve put together a short list of notable events that will take place in the coming months! We hope you can experience a few of these great activities during your stay with us!

August

  • August 20 – Sail On: The Beach Boys Tribute  Sail On: The Beach Boys Tribute out of Nashville focuses on performing songs by “America’s Band,” The Beach Boys, to sheer perfection. This top tribute brings a young look and authentic sound reminiscent of the original Beach Boys during the prime of their career.
  • August 24 – Kendell Marvel at Plant Riverside – Plant Riverside District will host Kendell Marvel — one of Nashville’s great songwriters with numerous noteworthy titles to his name, including country artist Chris Stapleton’s Grammy-winning song “Either Way” — will showcase his Southern songwriting skills and remarkable musical talents.
  • August 28 – 1969 – 1969 Tribute show is a new show from the Florida band, Peace of Woodstock. Join the fun as they pay tribute to the great music of that year!

​September

  • September 5 – Labor Day Beach Bash – Celebrate the end of summer with the annual Tybee Island Labor Day Beach Bash! Soak up the sunshine on the Tybee Island Pier while listening to live music from the Swingin’ Medallions Band under the open-air pavilion.
  • September 11 – SUSTO at Plant Riverside – Plant Riverside District will host SUSTO, a Charleston, S.C. indie rock band led by Justin Osborne, will perform a collection of songs defined by rock roots and memorable hooks.
  • September 23-26 – Savannah Jazz Festival – Mark your calendars for the 40th annual Savannah Jazz Festival, happening at Forsyth Park, Savannah, GA. 

​October

  • October 1 – Passafire at Plant Riverside – Plant Riverside District will host Passafire. Rock-reggae band Passafire has released a total of six studio albums, including #1 albums on both the Billboard and iTunes Reggae charts.
  • October 14-24 – The Savannah Music Festival 2021 – The Savannah Music Festival brings exceptional musicians from across the globe to venues throughout the historic district of Savannah, Georgia.
  • October 23 – 30 – The SCAD Savannah Film Festival – The Savannah College of Art and Design presents the annual festival, celebrating cinematic creativity from both award-winning professionals and emerging student filmmakers.
