Fall Fun in Tybee’s Family-Friendly Park
Tybee Island is home to several wonderful family-friendly parks that are perfect for enjoying when the weather cools off a bit. Located on the North End of the island in the Historic Fort Screven District, Jaycee Park is a great park that features both bike and walking paths along a scenic meandering waterway! Setup a lovely picnic in the park on one of the large grassy areas or next to the creek. Additionally, there are shuffleboard courts, a basketball court, a soccer field, and a great playground for kids. Memorial Park is located centrally on Tybee Island and is home to expansive green spaces along with basketball courts, a large playground, and covered picnic tables. There are public grills that can be used for a fun family cookout in the park!

The Best Time to Catch a Sunset
It’s no secret that Tybee Island is home to some stunning sunsets if you know where to go! And, Autumn offers up a wonderful time to get a glimpse of the sun dipping below the horizon as the beaches are less crowded and it starts to get dark earlier in the day. For the best views, visit on of Tybee’s river beaches. On the South End of Tybee, Back River Beach offers gorgeous views of the sun dipping behind Little Tybee. On the opposite end of the island, Savannah River Beach offers equally beautiful sunsets in a secluded area that’s a truly tranquil experience!
